The Future of Space Exploration
Many engineers and scientists believe that this is a thrilling and hectic time to work in the space industry. Many new developments are happening in our Outer Space. Tourists can now pay private companies for a trip to space, and the private sector is designing spacecraft for NASA missions. Plus, a robotic helicopter is also currently exploring Mars Surface.
NASA, ISRO, and many private companies have also set their aim on the moon. The Artemis program by NASA aims to send astronauts to the moon by 2025 in the future to create a base camp or maybe to be settled. This long human presence on the lunar surface will support NASA in preparing for human space exploration missions of long distance and duration, including a future crew flight to Mars.
Many academic research institutions are also contributing to lunar exploration. For instance, students and faculty members at Georgia Tech are constructing a Lunar Flashlight, a small satellite that will orbit the moon and search for lunar ice(Water in the form of ice). The collaboration between the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering (AE School) and the Georgia Tech Research Institute is scheduled to launch(research from 2022)
